2 Dead After WWII-Era Plane Crashes in California

Two people were killed when a World War II-era plane crashed shortly after takeoff in Chino, California. The twin-engine Lockheed 12A went down near Chino Airport on Saturday, according to ABC 30 and KCAL News.

"Firefighters responded to the scene at approximately 12:35 p.m., finding the plane 200 yards away from the runway in a grass field," Bryan Turner, Chino Valley Fire District battalion chief, told ABC News.

The identities of the two passengers killed have not been released. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash, reports ABC.
