Chrysler, GM, Toyota and Kia face major recalls due to safety issues

June 15, 2023 Recalls:

  • Kia is recalling [1,075] 2024 Sportage vehicles due to a possible short circuit in the power steering assembly, which could lead to a loss of power steering assist and increase the risk of a crash. Kia dealers will replace the power steering electric power pack for free. NHTSA report

  • Toyota has voluntarily recalled [13,000] 2023 Crown vehicles in North America due to a camera defect. The front or rearview camera may be distorted due to water damage, increasing the risk of hitting an object or pedestrian while reversing. Toyota will replace the cameras for free.   • General Motors is recalling [13,464] 2024-2025 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles due to malfunctioning seat belts. The seat belt retractors may lock, becoming inaccessible to occupants and increasing the risk of injury during an accident. Dealers will replace the retractors for free. NHTSA report

  • Chrysler is recalling 211,581 vehicles due to a software malfunction. The issue disables the electronic stability control system, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will update the software or repurchase the ABS control module for free. NHTSA report Chrysler is also recalling [3,541] MOPAR ABS control modules used in 2022 Dodge Durango and Ram 2500 and 2023 Ram 3500 vehicles.
