Popular Sunscreen Brand Recalls Products Over Mold Concerns
Suntegrity Skincare has issued a voluntary recall for several lots of its sunscreen products due to potential mold contamination. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identified a higher than acceptable microbiological mold count in some tubes, including the presence of aspergillus sydowii, a mold that can cause health issues such as eye infections and skin irritation.
FDA Recall Announcement:
The FDA posted a recall announcement on June 12, 2023, stating: "Suntegrity is voluntarily recalling the below lots of Impeccable Skin Sunscreen Foundation out of an abundance of caution because of a higher than acceptable microbiological mold count..."
Lots Recalled:
- Lot 115BU (contaminated with aspergillus sydowii)
- 8 additional lots (as a precautionary measure)
