Bodies of Father and Daughter Recovered From Texas River

The bodies of a man and a teenage girl, believed to be a father and daughter, were found in the San Jacinto River near Houston, Texas. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced deputies responded to a call Sunday evening for possible drownings at the Xtreme Off Road Park & Beach in Crosby.

The bodies were recovered by divers and marine units; the teenager on Sunday night, and the adult male on Monday morning.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the drownings, with Senior Deputy Thomas M Gilliland stating they are trying to determine "how this tragic incident occurred." The Xtreme Offroad Park, which features a mile and a half of beachfront, could not be reached for comment.
