Chrysler Recall: Over 1 Million Vehicles with Rearview Camera Malfunction

More than a million Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles recalled due to rearview camera issue, according to the NHTSA.

Chrysler and the NHTSA issued a recall for nineteen different types of vehicles, citing a radio signal malfunction that prevents the rearview image from displaying on the media screen, increasing crash risk and violating federal safety regulations.

  • Impact: ~1,033,433 vehicles across 19 makes/models impacted
  • Cause: Radio software prevents the rearview camera signal from reaching the media screen, reducing visibility and compliance with federal safety standards
  • Solution: Dealers will update radio software free of charge; car owners can check the NHTSA recall database or USA TODAY's recall database for vehicle status.
