  • Heavy rain, with up to 15 inches expected, and potential flash flooding across the western Gulf Coast, according to the National Hurricane Center.
  • Tropical Storm Watch issued for the Texas coast from Port O'Connor to the mouth of the Rio Grande.
  • The system is vast, with tropical-storm-force winds extending 290 miles outward.
  • AccuWeather predicts over half a foot of rain, with up to 30 inches possible in some areas.
  • "The environment is conducive for the storm to strengthen," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski.
