Austin police investigate apparent murder-suicide
Austin, Texas - Wednesday, January 11
Austin police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide that occurred on Macmora Rd., North Austin, early Wednesday.
According to APD communications, a man called at 1 a.m., stating:
"My wife is in the bedroom. I'm outside."
When officers arrived, they found a woman, Suzanne Bailey, 58, with a gunshot wound to the head. In the backyard, they discovered Joshua Lockwood, 53, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Lockwood was pronounced dead at the scene, while Bailey succumbed to her injuries later that morning at Dell Seton Medical Hospital.
Police have identified the two as husband and wife, naming Lockwood as the suspect.
