Kroger is giving away 45,000 pints of ice cream to celebrate the summer solstice on June 20. That's 50 pints per minute for 900 minutes, coinciding with the daylight hours we'll see in the Northern Hemisphere on the solstice.

The offer includes any pint of Kroger brand ice cream, such as Mint Chocolate Chip, Vivid Vanilla, and Tie Dye Burst.

To get your free pint, visit FreeKrogerIceCream.com on June 20 to download a limited-time, single-use digital coupon. The coupon is redeemable at various Kroger Family stores, including Fred Myer, King Soopers, Ralphs, and Smith's Food and Drug.

This promotion is valid across the US, excluding California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, Nevada, Tennessee, and Virginia.

So mark your calendars for some sweet treats, and get your coupon to beat the heat!

The summer solstice on June 20 marks the first official day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, with the longest daylight period. In the Southern Hemisphere, it's the opposite, as they head into winter while anticipating their summer solstice on December 21.
