Austin Weather: Storms & Heat on the Way

Scattered showers and storms expected through Tuesday, with hotter temperatures next week.

Austin, Texas – The National Weather Service warns of continued wet weather and rising temperatures over the coming days.

Between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, rainfall totals ranged from 0.5 to 2 inches as Tropical Storm Alberto reached Central Texas.

The southern parts of South Central Texas, especially the Coastal Plains, will see the brunt of the incoming storms.

A meteorologist with the National Weather Service said:

"Below normal temperatures are expected to rise to seasonally hot going into next week, with heat index readings up to 110."

  • Max Heat Index: 101°F
