A 17-year-old, Ricky Thompson III, has been arrested in connection with the Juneteenth festival shooting that killed two women and injured 14 others. The Round Rock Police Department announced Thursday that Thompson was arrested at 7:30 a.m. in Pflugerville and faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

"We know Ricky Thompson was not the only shooter at this event. We are still looking for other suspects and there will be more charges to come," Police Chief Allen Banks said.

The shooting occurred after an argument between two groups escalated, resulting in the deaths of Lyndsey Vicknair, 33, and Ara Duke, 54. Both victims were attending the celebration and were not involved in the initial altercation. Duke, an administrator at IDEA Public Schools, was planning to help her pregnant daughter move to London. Vicknair was a construction lawyer in Austin.
