Shooting at Arkansas Grocery Store Leaves Multiple Injured, Including Police Officer

Multiple people were injured, including a police officer, in a shooting at an Arkansas grocery store, the Southeast Arkansas Times reported Friday. The incident occurred around noon at the Mad Butcher market in Fordyce, about 70 miles south of Little Rock.

"Fordyce police are investigating a major incident at this time," the Fordyce Police Department said in a statement, as reported by the outlet. "This is an active scene and we ask that you avoid the area for the time being."

The suspect has been taken into custody, and the extent of the injuries is unknown at this time. The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office and the Dallas County Sheriff's Office have been contacted for additional information.
