Wild Thang, a veteran of the competition, wowed judges with his unique appearance andheartwarming story of resilience.

Wild Thang

"If you want to see a dog that is determined to thrive and survive..."

Born in Los Angeles, Wild Thang now enjoys his retirement life in Oregon. As a puppy, he contracted distemper from a rescue foster, an incident that left permanent damage, including misaligned teeth and a right leg that paddles 24/7. But he survived when another puppy didn't, overcoming the odds to become a healthy and happy dog. Wild Thang uses his Instagram platform to advocate for pet vaccinations and has even raised funds to rescue fellow Pekingese dogs from Ukraine.

Other Winners

"Rome, the second-place winner, is a 14-year-old pug that continues to steal hearts..."

Rome, a charming 14-year-old pug from the Pug Hotel in Rohnert Park, California, won second place. Left at the hotel by his owner, Rome has become a beloved community figure. He participated in the Wheeling Pug Relay, raising funds for wheelchairs for differently-abled dogs, and frequently visits hospice patients and schools to promote senior rescue dog adoption.

Daisy Mae

"Daisy Mae, the second-place winner, is a 14-year-old dog who loves soaking up the sun and chasing squirrels..."

Daisy Mae, also a second-place winner, is a 14-year-old California girl who has defied the odds. After a tough start in life, she lost her hair, teeth, and vision, and even survived a cat gang. Despite these struggles, she has gained confidence, made new friends, and found her forever home.
