Snapchill Recalls Canned Coffee Over Botulism Concerns
- Snapchill voluntarily recalled all canned coffee products due to potential botulism risk.
- The FDA announced the recall of nearly 300 products on June 17.
- The issue: Snapchill's manufacturing process for low-acid canned coffee was not filed with the FDA.
- Recalled products: Various brand names, 7-12 oz cans, with "produced and distributed by Snapchill LLC" below nutrition facts.
- No illnesses reported as of Friday, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
- Consumer options: Destroy, return to Snapchill, or refund at purchase location.

What is Botulism?
- CDC: Botulism is caused by bacteria producing toxins in food; a rare but serious, potentially fatal, form of food poisoning.
- WHO: No fever or loss of consciousness, but symptoms include weakness, vertigo, double/blurred vision, dry mouth, difficulty swallowing/speaking, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal swelling, and muscle weakness.
