Gardeners, Beware: Don't Get Fooled by These Cannabis Look-Alikes

As the new U.S. Farm Bill and Texas legislators seek to criminalize "intoxicating hemp", be wary of these impostors that could have you raising eyebrows and red flags.

"Don't be fooled by their appearance and aroma - they're not cannabis." – Tyler William, CEO of [Secret Nature](https://www.secretnaturecbd.com/)

The Look-alikes:

  1. Cassava: Native to South America, this shrub thrives in warm regions like Florida, Texas, and SoCal. Grows in sunny, well-drained areas above 60°F.

  2. Hemp Agrimony: A daisy family member with striking purplish-pink flowers. Its leaves resemble Sativa cannabis.

  3. Chaste Tree: Immature stages can be misleading due to leaf similarity.

  4. Texas Star Hibiscus: Vibrant red and white flowers, but its leaves look like cannabis during growth. Enjoys warm, humid climates and full sun.

  5. Japanese Maple: Resembles cannabis in early growth stages before its color change.

  6. Spider Flower: Often mistaken for Indica-dominant strains early on, but displays purple and white flowers as it matures.
