Alabama couple's joyride ends in deadly crash at same church days apart, officials say

Last Thursday, at 1:30 a.m., responders arrived at a Baptist church fire. They learned someone crashed into the basement, and identified the remains as 19-year-old Anthony Banks Jr.

Three days later, just before 1 a.m. Sunday, his girlfriend, Jennefer L. Arellano Maldonado, crashed into the same church while evading police, officials say. She hit a brick wall, and her allegedly stolen car caught fire.

Both were determined dead at the scene.
