This week, a stroke of luck changed the life of a 32-year-old man from Wayne County, Michigan, forever. The anonymous winner scored a whopping $6 million playing the 500X Money Maker instant game, purchasing only his second lottery ticket this year from a 7-Eleven store located 23 miles north of Detroit.

"I scratched the ticket off and when I saw I won $6 million, I started hyperventilating!"

The shocked winner, who told Michigan Lottery officials, said:

"I had to take the day off work because I was in a state of shock. I texted my wife and said: 'Lucky number 14.' She jokingly replied: ‘What do you mean? Are we millionaires?' As soon as I got home, I told her the big news!"

The man, who only plays "every once in a while," chose the ticket with number 14, a number special to him and his wife. He decided to take a lump sum payment of $4.1 million and plans to invest, help family, and start a business.
