Toyota recalls 145K SUVs
Toyota recalls 145,000 vehicles for airbag defects—a failure that could prove deadly. Included in the recall are certain Corolla, Matrix, and Yaris models.

Toyota is recalling certain 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander and Lexus TX vehicles (~145,000) over airbag issues. The automaker announced last Thursday that there's a problem with the driver's side curtain shield airbag, which may not deploy as intended during certain crashes if the window is down, increasing the risk of injury. A remedy is in development, with customer notifications by mid-August 2024.
Customers with additional questions are encouraged to call the Toyota Brand Engagement Center at 1-800-331-4331 or the Lexus Brand Engagement Center at 1-800-255-3987.
Earlier this month, Toyota also recalled 13,077 2023 Toyota Crown vehicles with rearview/front-view cameras due to welding issues, which could lead to water leakage and camera malfunction. Toyota will inspect/replace cameras as needed, with recall letters going out by July 30.
