A 26-year-old woman from Pennsylvania drowned in Glacier National Park, Montana on Sunday.

Woman, 26, Drowns at Glacier National Park

A 26-year-old woman drowned Sunday at Glacier National Park, MT, after being "washed over [St. Mary] falls and trapped under water for several minutes."

Resuscitation efforts were terminated at about 7 p.m. and [the victim] was pronounced deceased.

According to the NPS, bystanders pulled the woman from the water, administering CPR until emergency services arrived. Park dispatch received multiple 911 calls at approx. 5:20 p.m., with rangers on the scene by 5:45 p.m.

The woman never regained consciousness. An autopsy is underway, her next of kin notified, and the NPS offers "their deepest condolences."
