Body discovered on road in West Lake Hills; Austin-EMS responds.

Cause of death remains unclear as EMS officials refuse to comment.

Body found near West Lake Athletic and Community Center, police say no foul play suspected

A body was discovered "in the roadway" by Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) mid-day Wednesday near the West Lake Athletic and Community Center.

The Austin Police Department (APD) stated:

"The death is not being investigated as a homicide and no foul play is suspected at this time. This is an active and ongoing death investigation, and there is no further information available for release."

The person, found near 4300 Westbank Drive and Camp Craft Road, a cross street near West Lake High School, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Travis County medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.

According to the EMS, the area was closed off while investigations were underway.
