Actor Glen Powell is a #Texas native who recently relocated from LA to Austin, and he's not looking back.

In a recent interview with USA TODAY, Powell opened up about his reasons for leaving Hollywood:

"When all you do is consume movies and entertainment, you could become a little self-aware and maybe derivative of yourself...Your personal life, there's no sort of freedom there, there's storytelling around that, and I feel like that's just not good for you in the long term."

Breaking out of the Bubble

Powell wanted to escape the Hollywood bubble, which he believes can be detrimental to one's mental health. He also wanted to be closer to his family, who still lives in Austin and joined him at the May premiere of his new film, "Hit Man," with playful signs to keep their famous son grounded.

Texas: Better Meat, Hall of Fame Induction

Powell also cited the superior meat Texas has to offer compared to California. His 1-year-old rescue dog, Brisket, is a testament to his love for the state's cuisine.

Powell was recently inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame on May 15 at the Austin premiere of "Hit Man" at the Paramount Theatre.
