It's almost #FourthOfJuly, and Texans are gearing up for #fireworks. But with the state's complicated fireworks laws, here's what you need to know before you celebrate:

Fireworks legality in Texas:

  • Fireworks can only be sold on specific dates around certain holidays.
  • These include Texas Independence Day, San Jacinto Day, Cinco de Mayo, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Diwali, and Christmas/New Year's Day.
  • County and city ordinances may further restrict where Texans can set off fireworks.
