Mother Charged With Murder of Her Two Small Children
Lakewood, New Jersey - A 27-year-old mother, Naomi Elkins, has been charged with murdering her children, ages 1 and 3. Elkins is accused of stabbing and drowning her children, resulting in their deaths.
"At 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Lakewood police responded to a report of two children in cardiac arrest... Both children were pronounced dead at the scene."

The Ocean County Prosecutor, Bradley D. Billhimer, stated that Elkins faces two counts of murder and weapons charges. The Lakewood Township Police and Ocean County Sheriff's Office were also involved in the investigation, with a heavy law enforcement presence at the scene.
The incident occurred in a family-oriented neighborhood, leaving the community in shock.
