Hurricane Center Tracks Two Tropical Waves

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring two tropical waves:

  • Invest 94L: Moving into the central Caribbean Sea with limited shower activity. It's moving west at 25 mph. The NHC forecasts a 10% chance of formation in 48 hours, and 20% in the next 7 days.

Environmental conditions could become more conducive for some gradual development late this week over the western Caribbean Sea or over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico during the weekend.

  • Cabo Verde Wave: Centered south of the Cabo Verde Islands, producing disorganized showers. As it moves west at 15-20 mph, there's a possible slow development with a 30% chance of formation in the next 7 days.
