No Justice for Michael Ramos: Travis County Prosecutors Drop Case Against Officer Christopher Taylor

Travis County prosecutors announce they will not pursue charges against Austin police officer Christopher Taylor, responsible for the death of Michael Ramos in April 2020. The decision comes after a "grand jury declined to indict Taylor on multiple charges, including aggravated assault, deadly conduct, manslaughter, and murder".

"[The Grand Jury] declined to indict on those charges." - Travis County Prosecutors

Despite the jury deadlocking on a murder case against Taylor last year, prosecutors stated they will not seek a second trial.

Taylor claimed he fired because Ramos began driving, fearing for his fellow officers' safety, yet eyewitness accounts and video evidence contradict this narrative.
