Body found near West Lake athletic center, Austin police say no foul play suspected
A body was discovered "in the roadway" Wednesday midday, according to a social media post by Austin-Travis County EMS. The deceased was found near the West Lake Athletic and Community Center, and pronounced dead at the scene.
Austin Police Department released a written statement:
"The death is not being investigated as a homicide and no foul play is suspected at this time...This is an active and ongoing death investigation, and there is no further information available for release."
The statement also confirmed that the Travis County medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
