Biden-Trump 2024 Debate: Trump May Change Tactics, Be 'Nice' and 'Respectful,' Wallace Says

[President Joe Biden] (https://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/joe-biden/) and [former President Donald Trump] (https://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/donald-trump/) prepare for their first 2024 debate, with Trump potentially opting for a different approach, according to Chris Wallace.

"I’ve talked to a lot of people in the top echelons of his staff. They say he finally understands how badly he did in the 2020 debate. The two words that are coming out ― you don’t usually hear from the Trump camp ― are ‘nice’ and ‘respectful.’" - Chris Wallace to Kaitlin Collins on "The Source."

Wallace, who moderated the chaotic 2020 debate, provides insight that Trump may tone down his aggressive style.

Key Moments from 2020 Debate:

  • "Will you shut up, man??" Biden interrupted by Trump during healthcare discussion, leading to Biden calling Trump "unpresidential." Biden also denied being a socialist, asserting his position in the Democratic Party.
  • Proud Boys: When prompted by Wallace to condemn white supremacists, Trump responded to the Proud Boys: "Stand back and stand by," drawing bipartisan backlash. Trump later claimed ignorance of the group.
