Austin Police Investigating Double Homicide; Shooter at Large

Austin, TX - During a press conference held Wednesday evening, the Austin Police Department announced they are searching for a suspect in a double homicide that occurred in Southeast Austin.

According to Officer Ariel Crumes, police received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting behind an apartment complex on South Pleasant Valley Road.

Upon arrival, first responders declared one person dead at the scene, and transported two others to the hospital, where the second victim succumbed to their injuries. A third victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

"As of early Thursday morning, we do not have a description of the suspect," Crumes said. "But we believe this was an isolated incident."

Crumes did not provide information on the ages or genders of the victims, and it is unclear if the shooter fled the scene by vehicle or on foot.
