Storm Warning: Two Tropical Waves monitored by National Hurricane Center

The National Hurricane Center is tracking two tropical waves in the Atlantic, one likely to become a named storm this weekend.

  • Invest 95L: Located several hundred miles southwest of Cabo Verde Islands, with "disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity," per NHC.
    • Quote: "Further development of this system is anticipated."
  • Likelihood of formation:
    • 40% in 48 hours.
    • 70% in next 7 days.
  • Expected path: Moving westward at 15-20 mph, could become tropical depression/storm this weekend, potentially affecting Windward Islands.

Closer to the US, Invest 94L has a low chance of development in the west-central Caribbean Sea.
