Independence Day is almost here, and Texas knows how to celebrate. From parades to fireworks and everything in between, here's a round-up of events in the Austin area:
Round Rock:
- Parade: Giant inflatables take over Mays Street from 8:30 a.m. More info
- Frontier Days: Carnival rides, music, folk performances, and a pepper-eating contest. Ends with fireworks at Old Settlers Park. More info
Pflugerville:
- "Pfireworks" show in partnership with Typhoon Texas Waterpark. Outside the park, central locations listed here. Inside the park, admission tickets required. Ticket purchase.
Bastrop:
- Pet & Pal Parade: Dress up your pet and yourself for prizes. 8 a.m. registration, 10 a.m. parade. More info
- Big Bang Celebration: Music, games, bounce houses, and fireworks. 6-9:30 p.m. More info
San Marcos:
Bring blankets and snacks to view the fireworks from various spots. KTSW 89.9 will simulcast music and a countdown. 9:30 p.m. More info.
Kyle:
- Live music, vendors, and a community countdown for the 25-minute show. Fireworks launched from Plum Creek Golf Course, view from nearby parks. Avoid parking on curbs/medians. Road closures here. 5-9 p.m. More info.
Buda:
- Downtown Bike Parade: Awards presented at City Park Pavilion. 9 a.m.
- City Park Festivities: Volleyball, food, splash pad, axe throwing, and more. Fireworks after dark. 4 p.m. onwards. More info
