Get ready for Independence Day with a bang! Here are the fireworks shows and celebrations happening in Austin and surrounding areas:

Round Rock

  • Parade: Giant inflatables on a 1.5-mile route. 8:30 a.m., Mays Street.
  • Frontier Days: Carnival rides, music, folk performances, and a Pepper Eating Contest. Fireworks at dusk. Old Settlers Park, all day.

Pflugerville

  • "Pfireworks": Splashy show in partnership with Typhoon Texas Waterpark. Visible inside and outside the park. 9 p.m., Typhoon Texas.

Bastrop

  • Big Bang Celebration: Pet parade, music, games, bounce houses, sprinklers, and fireworks. 6-9:30 p.m., Main Street & Fisherman's Park.
  • Bastrop Pet & Pal Parade: Pet owners dress up with their pets for prizes. Registration 8 a.m., parade 10 a.m. Bastrop County Courthouse to Bastrop Opera House.

San Marcos

  • Fireworks Show: Bring snacks and blankets. Simulcast of patriotic music and fireworks countdown by KTSW 89.9. 9:30 p.m. View from San Marcos Activity Center, library, City Park, or Bobcat Stadium.

Kyle

  • Independence Day celebration: Live music, vendors, and a community countdown. Fireworks launched from Plum Creek Golf Course. 5-9 p.m., La Verde Park.
  • The golf course will be closed during the show. Fireworks visible from La Verde Park, Heroes Memorial Park, and Hays school district Performing Arts Center.
  • The city advises caution when choosing a viewing spot and avoiding parking on curbs. Road closures will be in effect.

Buda

  • Downtown Bike Parade: Awards presented under City Park Pavilion. 9 a.m., Main Street.
  • Evening festivities: Volleyball, food, splash pad, axe throwing, rock climbing, bounce houses, and fireworks. 4 p.m., Buda Amphitheater & City Park.
