No handshake for Trump, Biden at start of first 2022 presidential debate
President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump continued their trend of not shaking hands, foregoing the traditional greeting at the start of Thursday's debate—a repeat of the 2020 precedent set during their first face-off, according to CNN.
Entering from opposite ends of the CNN Studio in Atlanta, the rivals adhered to the agreed-upon debate rules, which included no studio audience, muted microphones, and a coin flip determining Trump's final closing statement and Biden's positioning on the right of the screen.
