Storm Brewing in the Atlantic, Expected to Become Tropical Depression or Storm Beryl

A low-pressure system 1,500 miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands is likely to become a tropical depression or Tropical Storm Beryl in the next 48 hours, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) warns. The system, known as Invest 95L, is becoming "better defined," according to the NHC, which predicts it will move west at 15-20 mph, approaching the Lesser Antilles by the weekend.

This system is expected to move westward at 15 to 20 mph and approach the Lesser Antilles by the end of the weekend. Interests there should monitor the progress of this system.

The NHC also tracks two other Atlantic tropical waves, including Invest 94L in the Caribbean, both with low chances of developing into storms. However, the NHC warns that regardless of development, heavy rainfall associated with the tropical wave will affect Central America and Mexico through the weekend.
