Long Island, NY: Four people were killed, and nine others injured when a car crashed into a nail salon in Deer Park, Long Island, on Friday afternoon. The driver, Steven Schwally, 64, has been charged with driving while intoxicated.

At approximately 4:32 p.m., Schwally was driving his 2020 Chevrolet Traverse at a high speed southbound when he lost control and crashed into the Hawaii Nail & Spa, located at 794 Grand Boulevard, authorities said.

"The lady that was sitting next to her died. So she was more nervous because when she saw that the other lady died, she was like, God saved her life, basically... She's lucky that she's alive," - Virginia Garcia, aunt of a 20-year-old survivor.

Three women and one man were pronounced dead at the scene, and nine others were injured, including Schwally, who was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital. Eight victims were taken to local hospitals, and one was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

The 20-year-old customer, whose aunt spoke to CBS News, is currently recovering from her injuries, which are believed to include broken bones.

No further updates on the conditions of the other victims have been provided by the police.
