NHTSA recalls over a million vehicles from nine major carmakers.

Vehicle Recalls: What You Need to Know

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued several recalls last week, including:

  • Ford is recalling 552,188 2024 F-150 vehicles due to unexpected downshifting, which can cause loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. (NHTSA report)
  • Jaguar is recalling 1,995 vehicles due to a potential oil leak in the engine compartment, which can increase the risk of a fire. (NHTSA report)
  • General Motors is recalling 6,746 2023-2025 Cadillac XT5 and 2024-2025 Cadillac XT6 vehicles due to an instrument panel malfunction, which can confuse other drivers and increase the risk of a crash. (NHTSA report)
  • Nissan is recalling 7,222 two-wheel-drive vehicles due to a potential driveshaft break, which can cause loss of power and increase the risk of a crash. (NHTSA report)
  • Chrysler is recalling 11,650 2014-2019 Fiat 500 vehicles due to a malfunction in the tire pressure monitoring system, which can result in improperly inflated tires and increase the risk of a crash. (NHTSA report)
  • Tesla is recalling:
    • 11,383 2024 Cybertrucks due to potential detachment of the truck bed trim, creating a road hazard. (NHTSA report)
    • 11,688 2024 Cybertrucks due to front windshield wiper failure, which can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. (NHTSA report)
  • Porsche is recalling 31,689 2020-2025 Taycan vehicles due to front brake hose leaks, which can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash. (NHTSA report)
  • Toyota is recalling:
    • 145,254 2024 vehicles due to potential curtain airbag deployment failure, which can increase the risk of injury. (NHTSA report)
    • Approximately 11,000 late-model Lexus crossover SUVs due to a head restraint issue, which may increase the risk of injury in a rear-end crash. (voluntary recall notice)
  • Volkswagen is recalling:
    • 9,653 2022-2024 Audi RS E-Tron GT and Audi E-Tron GT vehicles due to front brake hose tears, which can lead to reduced braking performance and increase the risk of a crash. (NHTSA report)
    • 271,330 2020-2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport vehicles due to a faulty passenger occupant detection system, which can deactivate the front passenger airbag and increase the risk of injury. (NHTSA report)
