AAA Texas says the average gas price statewide is now $3.10 per gallon, 5 cents more than last week, though 11 cents less than 2021. AAA blames rising oil prices—over $80 per barrel—which make up 54% of the pump price.

Texans are getting off easy when compared to the national average of $3.50.
