Retired couple goes viral with quirky cross-country mission: Eat at every Texas Roadhouse

'As long as our health is good and I still can drive 300 to 400 miles a day, we’re going to keep doing this.'

A retired Virginia couple has gone viral with their unusual cross-country mission: to eat at every Texas Roadhouse restaurant in the US.

Mike and Judy McNamara, both 71, started their culinary journey in 2003 and have since visited 434 locations, with no plans to slow down.

"There’s supposed to be between 650 and 700 in the United States alone, so we've knocked down a few of them," Mike told USA TODAY.

The couple, who have been together since third grade and married since 1971, enjoy the chain's "home-cooked" feel and often order the six-ounce sirloin, pork chops, and chicken tenders.

Their dedication has earned them a following, with Texas Roadhouse employees celebrating their milestones and the couple documenting their travels on Facebook.

The McNamaras travel 25,000 miles a year, pulling their camper behind a pickup truck, and have no intention of stopping:

"It's getting harder to (do) as they're building some more, which of course, sort of defeats the purpose of getting them all because now you've got more to go to [...] As long as our health is good and I still can drive 300 to 400 miles a day, we’re going to keep doing this."
