One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a "crowd surge/crush" at the University of Texas' all-day SEC celebration. Two others also suffered unrelated, minor issues and were taken to local hospitals.

The event, described by UT President Jay Hartzell as a "Texas-sized party," was organized to commemorate UT's entry into the Southeastern Conference. It included UT leaders, fireworks, and a free concert by Pitbull.

"...a free Texas-sized party on the Forty Acres, open to all."

The incidents, per Austin-Travis County EMS, took place between 9:12 p.m. and 10:38 p.m. Video footage on social media shows a large crowd rushing toward the UT Tower, Pitbull's performance location, from Littlefield Fountain.
