Police Attribute February Car Crash into Austin Hospital to Drunk Driving, Not Medical Emergency

Austin, TX: Authorities have concluded that the car crash into an Austin hospital's ER in February was caused by the driver's intoxication, with a blood alcohol level of 0.30%, exceeding Texas' legal limit. The investigation ruled out a medical incident, with no indication of a medical emergency or suicidal/homicidal tendencies from the driver, Michelle Holloway (57). Six people were injured, and Holloway died from blunt force head trauma. The hospital and first responders are being sued, with questions raised about safety barriers. Family members of Holloway declined to comment.

I believe Michelle was intoxicated at the time...and drove it into the hospital lobby - Detective Robert Foster, lead investigator

Per the report, Holloway was at the hospital to pick up her mother and was asked to move her niece's car. After waiting in the parking lot, she drove back towards the ER entrance, striking victims and a large aquarium. Surveillance footage showed brake lights illuminating as the car hit. An autopsy attributed Holloway's death to blunt head trauma.
