Nationwide urgent egg recall issued, nearly 5,000 pounds affected

Michael Foods is recalling 4,600 pounds of liquid egg products, the USDA warns. The company failed to list milk—a known allergen—on the product label.

Michael Foods Inc. is recalling approximately #4,620 pounds of liquid egg products due to an undeclared allergen. The products, produced by M.G. Waldbaum Co. of Gaylord, MN, were shipped to restaurants and institutions in nine states. The recall affects 32-oz cartons of Fair Meadow Foundations Whole Eggs with Citric Acid, with a use-by date of Sept. 16, 2024, lot code 4162G, and establishment number "EST. G1455."

The Food Safety and Inspection Service fears that some incorrectly labeled products may still be in restaurant refrigerators. They advise anyone concerned about illness or injury to seek medical attention and to throw away or return the products.
