Woman Kills Husband, Child, Then Herself, Louisiana Sheriff Says

Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard confirmed that 49-year-old Jenny Williamson is believed to have fatally shot her husband, 49-year-old Steven Williamson, and an 8-year-old child in their care, before taking her own life.

During a press conference, Sheriff Ard outlined the following:

• The incident is believed to have taken place over the weekend, either Friday or Saturday.
• A relative discovered the crime scene on Monday after conducting a welfare check, having been unable to reach the family.
• Deputies arrived on Monday morning and found three deceased individuals, including the suspect and two victims.
• The 8-year-old victim was not Williamson's child, but she had custody.
• There is no history of violent calls from this residence, and no background information suggesting domestic issues.

"This is horrible... My thoughts and prayers are with the family," Sheriff Ard said. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities attempt to piece together the events leading up to this tragic murder-suicide.
