American Airlines Flight Diverted After Passenger Exposed Himself, Urinated In Aisle, Police Say

An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Buffalo, New York, after an Oregon man allegedly exposed himself and urinated in the plane's aisle, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of New York.

"The flight ... was diverted to Buffalo ... due to a disruptive customer," American Airlines said in a statement to People magazine.

The 25-year-old man has been charged with indecent exposure and could face up to six months in jail and a $5,000 fine if convicted, prosecutors said.

On July 3, the plane was en route from Chicago to Manchester, New Hampshire, when the incident occurred, resulting in the diversion. The Niagara Frontier Transit Authority Police responded to the incident and took the man into custody after speaking with a flight attendant who confirmed the exposure and urination.

The man made his first court appearance on the same day and was released on his own recognizance.
