Hurricane Beryl Unleashes Havoc in the Caribbean, Heads for Texas
Days after its second landfall, Beryl intensifies, aiming to strike Texas as a Category 1 hurricane.
Location: 495 miles southeast of Corpus Christi, Texas
Winds: 60 mph, strengthening
Movement: WNW at 12 mph
On Monday, Beryl ravaged Grenada, killing 6, then became the earliest Category 5 on record, fueled by high ocean temps, stunning experts.

Watches and warnings are in effect for parts of Texas and NE Mexico, with life-threatening conditions expected. Large swells will cause deadly surf and rip currents along the Gulf Coast.
