Austin PD Investigate Waller Beach Suicide
Austin, Texas - The Austin Police Department (APD) have confirmed they are investigating a suicide on Waller Beach, near Lady Bird Lake and Rainey Street. APD spokesman, Officer Austin Zarling, said:
"[At] about 5:30 p.m. Friday [...] reporting a man with life-threatening injuries on the trail."
APD, ATC EMS, and the Austin Fire Department attended the scene. The man was pronounced dead at 5:45 pm.
Zarling clarified that the death is not a homicide, but a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The individual has not been identified, and police believe this to be an isolated incident.
