Driver Rescued from Floodwaters on Highway 288 in Houston

A driver has been rescued from floodwaters on Highway 288 in Houston, Texas. The incident, which occurred on the northbound lane at 610 South Loop, was first reported by ABC13.

"The man is now safe after being lifted to dry land by the Houston Fire Department." - ABC13

Traffic cameras captured the tense situation as the driver was stranded on top of their vehicle, surrounded by choppy floodwaters caused by Tropical Storm Beryl. First responders arrived at around 10:37 a.m. and provided the individual with a life jacket, lifting them to safety with a rescue ring buoy.

The vehicle, belonging to an auto repair company, remains stuck on the highway.
