Beryl Made Third and Final Landfall in Texas

Beryl made its final landfall in Texas early Monday as a Category 1 hurricane. It is expected to weaken to a tropical storm and then a tropical depression as it moves inland.

"Heavy rainfall of 5 to 10 inches, with localized amounts of 15 inches, is expected in parts of Texas, potentially causing considerable flash and urban flooding." —the National Hurricane Center

The storm will bring heavy rain and potential flooding to several states, including Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana.

Timeline:

  • Monday-Monday night: Upper and middle Texas Gulf Coast and eastern Texas – 5 to 10 inches of rain, with localized amounts of 15 inches.
  • Monday night-Tuesday: Southeastern Oklahoma, Arkansas, and southern Missouri – 3 to 5 inches of rain.
  • Tuesday-Wednesday: Illinois and Indiana – 2 to 4 inches of rain.
