Tips for Driving in Hazardous Conditions:

Texas Department of Insurance offers these safety guidelines for drivers:

  • Avoid puddles that can cause hydroplaning.
  • Stay on higher ground and drive in middle lanes to prevent hazardous pooling water.
  • Keep headlights on for better visibility.
  • Use turn signals early to alert other drivers.
  • Brake safely: foot off the accelerator, light pressure to brake.
  • No sharp turns to prevent skids and accidents.

Stay safe, Texas.
