Two dead as Hurricane Beryl wreaks havoc in Texas. Beryl's fierce winds brought down trees, crushing homes and killing two in Harris County.

2 Killed as Beryl-Felled Trees Smash Texas Homes


Two dead in Harris County, Texas, as trees fell on their homes. The victims, a 53-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman, were separately struck in the storm. The man was taking shelter with his family when the tree collapsed the roof, trapping him under debris. His family survived unharmed.

Beryl, now downgraded to a tropical storm, is expected to cause further damage as it moves north, with heavy rain, storm surges, and high winds. The storm has already claimed 11 lives across the Caribbean, with deaths reported in Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Venezuela, and Jamaica.
