Texans cautioned to stay vigilant as Storm Beryl batters state

As of Monday evening, three reported dead in Texas due to Storm Beryl, per Lt. Gov. Patrick. Fox 26 Houston put the figure at seven. The storm, dubbed a "backdoor storm," hit over a holiday weekend, catching many off-guard. Texans urged to avoid travel and check on those who may need help.

Flooding and tornado risks continue:

  • Tornado warnings persist for northeast Texas with heavy rains expected.
  • Flooding in Houston area expected to worsen due to rainfall in northeast.
  • 50 roadways impassable due to flooding; caution urged as water depth can be deceptive.
