Hurricane Beryl Leaves Over 1 Million Texans Without Power


As of Thursday morning, more than 1 million customers in Texas are still without power, three days after Hurricane Beryl made landfall near Matagorda.

Unexpected Heatwave:

Houston and Southeast Texas brace for another day of extreme heat with the heat index predicted to surpass 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Power Companies Respond:

CenterPoint Energy and Entergy Texas provided updates on their progress:

As of Wednesday night, CenterPoint Energy has restored power to over 1 million customers out of the initial 2.26 million affected, but nearly 1 million are still without power.

Entergy Texas reported that they have restored power to more than 50% of impacted customers and aim for 75% restoration by Friday.
