Round Rock Juneteenth Shooting Suspect Charged

Round Rock, TX: Keshawn Dixon, 18, has been arrested and charged with deadly conduct in connection to the Juneteenth celebration shooting on June 15, which left 2 dead and 14 injured. Police have stated that Dixon is a documented gang member and was seen on multiple occasions firing a Glock handgun with a switch attachment that enables automatic fire.

"The disrespect revolved around a member of Get Money Entertainment who had been previously murdered," police statement regarding the motive

The gang-related dispute began as a rivalry between two rap groups, "Whaa Ent" and "Get Money Entertainment." The argument escalated, and Dixon was witnessed firing at Ricky Thompson, previously charged with aggravated assault for his role in the shooting. According to the affidavit, released on Friday:

"Dixon started shooting and lost control of his gun...the direction he was shooting was where most of the victims were located."

Witnesses placed Dixon at the scene, with one stating he was wearing a ski mask, and police discovered a photo on his Instagram profile, showcasing the Glock with the switch attachment. Dixon admits he was at the event, but only briefly, and denies any involvement in the shooting.

Dixon now faces a third-degree felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and police have stated they will pursue further charges. With a criminal history that includes robberies, threats, and assault, along with his gang affiliation, the prospect of a lengthy sentence is highly likely.
